Is there a flashcard app that lets you redo only the cards you missed?

tudy flashcards: create them per subject and redo only the ones you missed.

tudy flashcards are decks of cards with a question on the front and the answer on the back. You study in rounds and, at the end, you can redo only the cards you missed. The Free plan includes 1 deck and Pro makes decks unlimited. It isn’t spaced repetition like Anki: it’s simple round-by-round review.

How a round works

Open a deck and tap Study. The cards come shuffled, one at a time, with a counter like “Card 3 of 12”. You read the question, tap to flip, read the answer and grade yourself: Got it or Missed it.

At the end of the round tudy shows your result (“You got 9 of 12 cards right”) and gives you two options:

  • Redo the ones I missed (3): a new round with only the cards you got wrong.
  • Study everything again: the whole deck, reshuffled.

You can repeat the missed-cards round as many times as you like until it’s clear. It’s the part of studying that pays off most, and many apps bury it in menus.

How to make cards

Inside a deck, New card opens a form with the front (the question) and the back (the answer). The form stays open after you save, so you can add several in a row. A deck can be general or linked to a subject.

A rule of thumb: one card, one idea. “What’s the compound interest formula?” works better than one card holding three formulas.

Cards are text on both sides. tudy doesn’t import decks from other apps.

XP and streak from flashcards

A finished round with at least 3 cards is worth 5 XP and counts as a study day for your streak. The cap is 15 XP a day (3 rounds); past that, a round still keeps your streak, it just earns no XP. “Redo the ones I missed” counts as a new round if it has 3 or more cards. Rounds with 1 or 2 cards don’t count. More on points in XP and leaderboard.

Flashcards made by AI (Pro)

In Talk to tudy you can say “make flashcards for Cell Biology.” tudy proposes a deck of 5 to 20 cards, only for a subject you already have, and the deck is created only when you tap Confirm. Read the answers before you study: the AI helps you get started, but checking the facts is on you.

What’s free and what’s Pro

Free Pro
Flashcard decks 1 (in total) unlimited
Cards, rounds, redo missed yes yes
XP and streak yes yes
Flashcard numbers in Stats (last 30 days) no yes
Deck creation by AI no yes

Pro is $3.99 a month or $29.99 a year, paid by card. The 1-deck limit is enforced in the database.

What tudy flashcards don’t do

  • They don’t use spaced repetition. No algorithm decides when a card comes back. If that’s essential for you, Anki is better at it; tudy wins when you want flashcards living next to your tasks, deadlines and timer.
  • They don’t import or export decks.
  • They have no images or audio on the cards. Front and back are text.
  • They don’t work offline.

When flashcards make sense

Flashcards are for what you memorize: formulas, dates, vocabulary, definitions, legal terms. For what you need to understand, like a line of reasoning, a notebook usually works better. Combine them: write the summary, then pull cards from it.

Frequently asked questions

How many flashcard decks can I have for free?

One deck on the Free plan, in total, not per subject. On Pro, decks are unlimited.

Does tudy use spaced repetition like Anki?

No. tudy reviews in rounds: you go through the cards, see which you missed and redo just those. There is no per-card scheduling algorithm.

Does studying flashcards earn XP?

Yes. A finished round with at least 3 cards is worth 5 XP, up to 15 XP a day, and it keeps your streak alive.

Can the AI make flashcards for me?

Yes, on Pro. In Talk to tudy you can ask for a deck of 5 to 20 cards for a subject you already have. It's only created after you confirm.
